Primary Care Shortage
"Shortage of Doctors Proves Obstacle to Obama Goals: Primary Care Lacking" New York Tims, April 27 http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/27/health/policy/27care.html?_r=1&hp
White House officials are "particularly concerned about shortages of primary care providers who are the main source of health care for most Americans." "The Medicare Payment Advisory Commission, an independent federal panel, has recommended an increase of up to 10 percent in the payment for many primary care services, including office visits." Health care reform is high on President Obama's agenda, Congress is starting to work out details, and there seems to be agreeement that more family physicians and more equitable reimbursement for primary care services will be an essential part of this. Are you ready to join up? Think family medicine, and think Great Plains!
