Military Medicine at Great Plains

In honor of Veteran's Day, Great Plains would like to recognize the contributions of our own who are serving or have served in the military.

Student Clerkship
Great Plains Family Medicine Residency Program offers two rotation options for medical students:
- Third-year students at the University of Oklahoma can choose Great Plains as the site for their four-week family medicine clerkship. Time is spent in our outpatient clinic, in both Deaconess Hospital and Integris Baptist Medical Center, and with our inpatient team and at daily didactics. Interested OU third-years should enroll as usual and request Great Plains as the site.
- GPFM offers a two-week, elective rotation, Family Medicine in a Community/Urban Setting, for fourth-year medical students in United States LCME medical schools. The rotation includes inpatient and outpatient experience, daily didactics, working with our electronic health record, as well as the opportunity to focus on pediatrics, obstetrics and/or geriatrics. Additional experience taking call with a resident, attending journal clubs and learning about other aspects of our residency program is available.
